Ghost Fern- From the garden of Virginia's Nancy Swell, this new fern is a cross between Athyrium filix-femina (Lady Fern) and Athyrium niponicum pictum (Japanese Painted Fern). This is a clump forming rigidly upright fern 2-3' tall with the ghostly silver-gray foliage of the Japanese Painted Fern. To make a haunting impression use this fern in the shade garden whenever you wish, even in rather dry conditions. It is great with blue foliage Hostas or Epimediums. Grow in full sun to partial shade in moist to well-drained soil. Spacing 12"s apart. This fern grows at a moderate rate.

Cold hardy in zones 4-8.
