Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Little Honey'
|
Named by Cliff Russell of Russell Gardens, Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Little Honey' is new for 2000, to Sunny Border-Ohio's ever expanding selection of herbaceous ornamental grasses. This miniature fountain grass is a very stable, silver variegated form of P. alop. 'Little Bunny'. Like most pennisetums this is a clump form with short, linear leaves and stout, feathery, bristle-like panicles in summer through autumn. The 6-8" size lends this delightful little treasure to rockery type plantings. Companion plant with P. a. 'Little Bunny', dwarf hosta or dianthus. 'Little Honey' makes a great front of the border addition.
